THE DALMORE DISTILLERY FIRE

RUSH OF MADDENED ANIMALS. A Burning Stream. Press Association—Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Julv 5, !L4O a.m. LONDON, July 4. In connection with tho destruction of the Dalmore Distillery, at Ross-shire, on the cry of “fire” being raised a number of half-naked men rushed to liberate the famous polled herd cattle. Women huddled in groups in Market Square to evade the rush of the maddened animals. One hundred casks of UO-years’-old whisky hurst into red flames, and flowed into Cromarty Firth. Sand thrown on lh.‘ burning stream was futile. The burning spirit lit the Firth like a searchlight, and it was visible at Dingwall, nine miles away.
