RUGBY FOOTBALL. A rep. practice is to be held in (he training shed at 7.30 this evening, in conjunction with the Wanganui Club. Owing to Southcombe and Signall not being available Phillips and Lyons will pl»7any players unable to make tne trip arc requested to communicate with the secretary at once. All emergencies are requested to attend the practice. WANGANUI RUGBY UNION. The management committee of the above met last night. Present —Mr G. Spriggens (president). Dr. Wail, Messrs G. Reynolds, R. Slyfield, IV. S. Dustin, A. Gray, T. K. Turnbull, J. McLeau, B. 0. Ashcroft, L. Craig, and G. Powaall. NORTH ISLAND TEAM.—TIieN.Z.R.U. notified that the North Island touring team would play in Wanganui on the sth August. APOLOGY.—B. Signall wrote explaining hia failing to play against Taranaki on Jane 3, and apologising.—Apology accepted. MAORI TEAM.—It waa decided to offer Mr Parata free use of tiie Rec. and 50 per cent, of nett gate for the match between the Maori team and Wanganui. AWAEUA R.U.—The Awarua Sub-union wrote asking for a match in Wanganui— Resolved to ask Rangitikei to reply immediately if they wanted the 29th inet., otherwise to suggest this date to Awarua. TARANAKI MATCH.—Mr J. O’Shea waa selected as referee for the TaranakiWanganui match to be played at Hawera on Thursday, and Mr Turnbull was appointed as manager of the Wanganui team. HAWKE’S BAY.—The Hawke’s Bay Union applied for a visit from a Wanganui team, but it was resolved to reply that it was impossible to send a team this season. WAVERLEY.—The classification committee allowed the transfer of J. Bourke, of Satea Club, from senior to junior, gp requested by Waverley. INDISCRIMINATE KICKING.—It was decided to write warning an Eastern player for indiscriminate kicking. It was also decided to suspend for a fortnight a Waverley player for attempting to° kick an opponent in the IVaverley-College match. * ° SUSPENDED.—For deliberately hitting an opponent, C. Marter (Pirate Thirds* waa sue pended till the end of season 1911. DONATION.—Mr G. IV. Batley wrote donating his expenses in the recent Tar;>naki match to the Union.—Acknowledged with thanks. THIRD-CLASS MATCHES—The IVav-erley-Old Boys match was postponed from the Bth, and the Pirate Thirds allowed to go to Waverley on that date instead of on the 13th. BY-LAY 4a.—The question of Pirate Thirds losing one point under this bylaw wae discussed. The Chairman ruled-by-law, not having been confirmed at the auuual general meeting as required in terms of by-law 20, is inoperative.” EASTERN FOOTBAL CLUB. All members of the above club are reminded of the practice to be held to-mor-tow night. As many of the thirds as possible are naked to attend, as business i* important.
