DIFFERENTIAL STEAMSHIP FREIGHTS.
AN AUCKLAND COMPLAINT. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Juno 30. A meeting - of local merchants discussed the differential freights between Auckland and Gisborne, and Wellington and Gisborne. it being claimed that Wellington merchants at present were afforded great advantages. It was stated that Gisborne merchants were arranging to have goods from England transhipped at Wellington instead of at Auckland, A deputation was appointed to interview the Union and Huddart Parker Companies, and uak for a reduction of freights between Auckland and Gisborne.
