DECREASE IN MERINOS.

Press Association.—Telegraph .—Copyright. SYDNEY, June 30. At the official luncheon at the Sheep Show Sir Francis Suttor referred to the decrease in merinos. With the smaller areas of laud available the man on the land was going in for crossbreds, for which he could more readily get a market and ho paid better. All over Australia, New Zealand, and South America crossbreds were increasing at the expense of merinos. In 1901 there were 39 million merinos and three million crossbreds in New South Wales. Now there wore 41 million merinos and five million crossbreds.
