AUSTRALIA AND WIRELESS.

AN ANOMALY. Press Association—Telegraph.—Copyright. Received June 30, 9.0 a.m. MELBOURNE, June 30. A Chamber of Commerce deputation asked the Postmaster-General to establish small commercial wireless stations at various points on the coast. It was pointed out that an anomaly existed, as practically all the overseas steamers' were fitted with wireless, but there were no land stations. The Hon. W. M. Thomas expressed full sympathy with the wishes of the deputation, but certain legal difficulties had arisen regarding the installation of wireless, and it was not desirable to proceed till these had been settled. He intended to place a sum on the estimates next session for wireless.
