RIOT AT BIRKENHEAD. Press Association.—Telegraph.-Copyright. LONDON, April 17. Rector Heywood, of Lancashire, headed a deputation from the men’s Bible-class to Mormon missionaries, and required them to leave the town, threatening that they would be tarred and feathered. Tho Mormons agroe&to leave. Mormons at Birkenhead refused an angry crowd’s ultimatum, and were attacked. The police arrested five rioters. The crowd pelted the police with stones and mud, and several were injured.
