Tlie Labour Council is appointing a committee to inquire into the whole question of female labour. The secretary declared that he thought a lot of the talk about the acute shortage of girl labour was'a lot of rubbish. The wa"os and conditions in factories were not such as to entice girls to work there. Other prominent Unionists expressed similar views. <
