ROWING.

UNION BOAT CLUB. Dustin fours. The final heat for the Dustin Shield was rowed on Saturday afternoon, between the crews stroked by H. Sharpe and D. Corby respectively, the former winning after a very fine race. Sharpe jumped away with a fast stroke, and had a canvas to the good after going 100 yards, gradually increasing to half a length. Corby closed up a little, but at the bend Sharpe had a length’s advantage, and the race looked to be already won. However, Corby began to lessen the gap, and at the stone groyne the boats were almost level. So they raced for some distance, and then the pace began to tell on a couple of Corby’s men, the result being that Sharpe drew away and won by over a length and a half, notwithstanding a capital final effort by his rival. The winning crew consisted of H. Sharpe fstrk), A. Yarrow (3), A. Flynn (2), C. An nabell (bow). The runners up for the shield were D. Corby (strk), J. Yarrow (3), N. Bond (2), K. Grotty (bow). A.B.C. LICENSED VICTUALLERS’ PAIR-OAR TROPHIES. Tire following crews have been drawn to row off for the above trophies-—To night, Dewson v. Phillips (5.30), Godfrey and Guildford (6.30). Tuesday: Holme 1 -- v. Scott (5.30), Brider v. Thomson (6.30). Wednesday: S. Bone v. Cannon (6 p.m.). Some splendid racing is anticipated.
