THE BAGDAD RAILWAY.

The Porte has agreed to allow the Bagdad Railway Company to extend the line to Bagdad. The company renounces a lien of a four per cent, increase on Customs duties, receiving instead a security upon the Empire’s general revenues. The company will build a branch line from Osmanieh to Alexandretta. and will construct a harbour at Alexandretta.

Reuter’s Constantinople correspondent reports that the Company has agreed to the Porte arranging the construction of the line on the basis of Germany having equal participation with any foreign Power.
