LONDON WOOL SALES.
A DECLINE. Pleas Association.—Telegraph.— Copyright. LONDON, January 18. At the wool sales, 9638 bales were offered. There was an excellent selection,/ and a large attendance of buyers, with very strong home competition. Continental buyers were quiet, and Americans gave only slight support. Good merinos were 5 per cent, below December closing rates. Faulty showed fully 10 per cent, and medium to coarse crossbreds 7.V per cent, decline. Later. ■ The wool sales are active.. Home buyers are operating keenly at opening rates.
