ALLEGED ELECTION LIBEL. LONDON, January 12. Certain articles published by Reynold’s Newspaper during the late election campaign are likely to be productive of interesting libel actions. Jv ; It is said that the Duke of Marlborough and Mr. William Waldorf Astor are the aggrieved parties, and that the articles which gave them offence wore some dealing with the cry about “American dollars.” The Duke of Marlborough is one of the many British peers who have captured rich American heiresses. The Duke’s bride was Miss Consuclo Vanderbilt, daughter of Mr. Wi. K. Vanderbilt. Mr. Aston, who is a son of John Jacob Astor, of New York, is well known as a man of great wealth. Previously to becoming a naturalised British subject ho was a member of the New York Legislature, and was subsequently United States Ambassador to Italy.
