Act ..was sufficient, he replied, “I do not think you must -cross-examine mo on that point. I can only say as is in the memorandum that Australia has splendid material whereof to make an army.” When asked whether -exception was taken regarding the cost, he replied, “No; it surely was not a large sum! A prosperous country, like. Australia will find she can hear that very well.”
