Borough Streets.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir. —Winter is at hand, and some of our streets arc in a very bad state, especi- > ally the upper portion of Victoria Avenue, ! from lugestre Street to Glasgow Street. On ,tho College, side there is at the present time some two or three inches of loose sand, and when wot weather sets in.ty will be impossible, for cyclists to use that side of-the Avenue. I think, sir, if the road scraper was put to use, and all the loose ’Sand removed, and then the road metalled (screened, of course),'it would save the lower portion of the Avenue a great deal, from the abominable dust we got so much of. While writing, I would like to mention other streets of the borough that need attention, as regards the loose sand on the side of the roads: Wicksteed Street, from Plymouth Street towards St. John’s: some portions of Bell Street; Dublin Street, from Avenue to Uiver Bank, with the exception of the block where the tram line loop is, the above streets mentioned could bo easily done with.the scoop, as the sand in most places is pretty deep. Hoping, sir, that you can find me space in your valuable columns for the above few lines, and that the borough authorities.will have the roads or streets attended to is the wish of ' CYCLIST.
