The foremast-top waa carried away. The Made was blown 120 miles out to sea bv the hurricane, which lasted three days.’ A tremendously heavy sea was running, and the deck cargo had to be jettisoned to lighten the vessel. The deck was continually awash. The crew had a very trying experience.
