FIRE AT AUCKLAND.
BAILEY’S BOAT BUILDING WORKS DESTROYED. (Per United Press Association ! AUCKLAND, April 20. A fire occurred in Customs Street, City, to-night, the premises of Charles Bailey, junr., boatbuilder, and Alf. Bailey, blacksmith, and their stock, being destroyed, while the premises of C. P. Murdoch, wood joiner, adjoining, were damaged. Among stock destroyed in Charles Bailey’s premises were several boats, principally launches. He-estimates his loss at over £2OOO, but he has policies in the New Zealand Insurance Company’s office for £IOOO. Alf. Bailey’s loss is estimated at £3OO.
