NEW PLYMOUTH EXPERIENCES.

A howling eouth-easter is doing tonsil erable damage in the town and suburbs, and many old buildings and fences hav t * been destroyed. Telegraph wires have been torn from the posts, windows smashed, and chimneys blown over. Onq gust of wind lifted a woman some feet in tlic air. drop ped ier, and rolled her across the street. A fishing craft at Moturoa sunk at her mooring, but the Karawa berthed safely on arrival from Otehunga. Slates from tte roof of the new post office are being ti.rn off. ■ The oil derricks at Moturoa are believed to have suffered severely. It is the severest blow experienced for many years. STORM IN GISBORNE. Heavy . Bain. .< . - . "GISBORNE,- March" 30. The storm.-, forecasted by the Qovernment Meteorologist duly arrived. A; strong easterly gale is raging, with heavy; rain.
