Unfounded Fears.
Great Damage at Noumea.

The damage was chiefly confined to Suva and the vidnity of Levuka, Ba Lautoka. Taviuni escaped damage, but it will be a few days before the effect if any on the outlying islands will be known. : 6 The hurricane raged at Noumea on Sunday causing great damage. Houses were unroofed, telegraph lines blown down, and roads washed away by the high seas. me Leman gunboat Cormorant lost several boats in the, gale.
