BUSH DISTRICTS A. & P. SHOW
(Per United Press Association.) ' WOODVILLE, January 26. The weather was fine for the eighteenth animal show of the - Bush Districts A. and P. Associations held to-day. The. entries in the horses, cattle, and sheep classes were fewer than last year, hut the competitions have tilled splendidly. Laiug’s Lass o’Gowrie won the first and champion lor brood inaro with foal at foot; D. Piper the first for mare and foal in weight carrying class. The eighteenth annual show held under the auspices' of the. Bush Districts A. and P. Association, was held here to-day. and was an unqualified success. The weather was delightful, and consequently the attendance was large. Diiring the afternoon the competitions were a great attraction, every event passing off without a hitch or accident. The officials deserve great praise for the manner in which, they attended to everything. The entries in ’ the stock classes wore slightly fewer than last year, but those that know were satisfied the quality was superior to anything ever exhibited, hero.
Horses. —In thoroughbred classes A. Laing’s Glen Gowrio was first and champion, and the same gentleman, received first ajul champion for a. mare. The hack classes were well tilled: —15st W. H. Gaisford's Columbine, 1; 13st., W. 11. G'aisford’s Good Night, 1; J. S. Nelson’s Dick, 2. list., Mrs H. M. Campbell’s Whaiapo, 1; W. J. Scdcole’s Caloola 2. Trap Horse: J. S. Nelson’s Dick 1. In the Ladies’ Hacks Mrs Campbell’s Whaiapo was first, and Mrs Nelson’s Dick second. In draughts, Jos. Beagley’s Glen Offis was first and best stallion.
Cattle.—Holstein Prussians bull, W. Remnant 1 and champion. Cow, J. B. Vcales 1 and champion. In Ayrshircs, C. Woodley won most of the prizes and championships. Jersey Bull, J.' S. Nelson 1 and champion. Cow, S. E. Lancaster 1 and champion. ‘ ’ ? Sheep.—Lincoln (good class): 11. Gaisford 1 and champion for ram, and D. Mconald 1 aadchampiOu for ewe. Border Leicester: 11,. B. Blythe 1 and champion for ram, and N. P. Neilscn 1 and champion for ewe. English Leicester: S. 11. Lancaster, tlie only exhibitor secured all the prizes and championships. In Romneys there was good competition: G. E. Allen 1 and champion for rani, and, J. E. Hewitt 1 and champion for owe. Southdown Ram: P. (I. L. McKenzie 1 and champion; ewe, S. R. Lancaster 1 and champion. In ercssbredg W. H. Nelson secured most of the prizes. In fat sheep honours were divided between J. Harding, 11. Gaisford, and W. 11. Nelson.
