At the annual meetm- of the Waverley Volunteer Fire Brigade the following officers were elected for the ensuing year :_ Captain, P. Duffey; lieut., O. Williams (re-elected) ; foremen, J. Willcox and F. McCleneghan ; secretary. W. T. White (re-elected). The committee will consist of officers with the addition of H. Bishop and J. Prouse. Mr. J. H. Mathicson met with a rather painful acojdent yesterday. It seems that Mr. Mathieson was carrying a bag of coal, and on throwing the bag down it hit a ramrod which was lying on the ground, and flew up making a nasty wound on the head. * . At an extraordinary preneral meeting of the Oturu Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., held on Thursday, the 23rd inst. the resolution passed at an extraordinary general meeting: of the company, held on 28th August, that the name of the company be changed to the Waverley Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., was confirmed.
