The following are the scores : — A. V. Merriman (Waverley), O v. F. G. Trewick (Hawera) 1. C. Johnson 0 v. H. S. Elliot 1. B. Cave 0 v. Barley 1. T White 0 v. H. R. Chalmers 1. G. H, Graham 0 v. E. Nalder 1. G. H. Howie 0 v. R. Page 1. J. Howie 0 v. B. Joll 0. A. D. Macpherson 1. Total, Waverley 1; Hawera 7. At the annual meetm- of the Waverley Volunteer Fire Brigade the following officers were elected for the ensuing year :_ Captain, P. Duffey; lieut., O. Williams (re-elected) ; foremen, J. Willcox and F. McCleneghan ; secretary. W. T. White (re-elected). The committee will consist of officers with the addition of H. Bishop and J. Prouse. Mr. J. H. Mathicson met with a rather painful acojdent yesterday. It seems that Mr. Mathieson was carrying a bag of coal, and on throwing the bag down it hit a ramrod which was lying on the ground, and flew up making a nasty wound on the head. * . At an extraordinary preneral meeting of the Oturu Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., held on Thursday, the 23rd inst. the resolution passed at an extraordinary general meeting: of the company, held on 28th August, that the name of the company be changed to the Waverley Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., was confirmed.
