The Billiards Association has authorised the Auckland Amateur Sports Club to act as the governing body for billiards in New Zealand. It also decided to give a I gold medal annually to the winner of the amateur championship of New Zealand. SELF-SOUGHT HONOUR. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 24. In May last, the Auckland Sports Club wrote to the Billiards Association, suggesting that they be appointed the governing body of billiards in New Zealand, there being 1 no body of control here. The object was to arrange -a championship for the whole of New Zealand, the first to be held at Christmas in Auckland, and annually thereafter in different centres.
