MR. CEORGETTI AT MANUI.

Mr James Georgetti, Independent can-\ didatc for the Rangitikei seat, opened his campaign at Manui on Thursday evening, to a well filled house of settlers. After feelingly referring to Mr Remington's death, went on to show that his vari-' ous actions on local bodies has always been of an indifferent character, and had met. with public approval. Mr Georgetti then dealt with the main political questions of the day, viz.j the freehold, native lands, Licensing Act, borrowing powers oflocal bodies, loans to local bodies, and compulsory military training. The manner in which he handled these subjects showed that Mr Georgetti takes a keen interest in political affairs, and has a thorough "grasp of the subjects dealt with.
