On the resumption of the Conciliation Court this morning, the demands o/^the dredgemen, , for preference to - Unionists and an increase of one shilling on t.the minimum were further considered. The assessors representing the employees intimated that they were definitely instructed to ask for an increase of one shilling per day for dredge hands in'the Waikaia district.

Mr W. Scott, on behalf of the employers said tthere -was nx> possibility of 'the dredge owners conceding this demand; Finally it was agreed that "both, ters should ,be 'taken, to^tih*- Arbitration Court for settlement wr * % ,
