The Kapiti and the Huia arrived from Wellington early this morning. The former left for Westport this afternoon, the Huia returning- to Wellington. The Gertie arrived from Westport on this morning's tide, and sails again for that port in the morning". The Rimu left here at 2 o'clock last night for Onehunga, via Opunake, and other ports, and arrived at Opunake this morning- at 9.40.

The Putiki is due from Westport tomorrow, and returns there on Monday. The small steamer Rob Roy. which left the Wellington wharf at 2.40 p.m. yesterday with a load of produce for Havelock, had not gone out of sight of the wharf before she got into trouble. The vessel (says the N.Z. Times) took a short cut inside the buoy at Point Jerningham and landed on the shelving rock on which the tramp steamer Inveran leaned when she was blown near the shore several months ago. In these days of scarcity of towing work it was not surprising that the Rob Rok soon had abundant help at hand, and she was towed off, apparently without having sustained any damage. Fully a day ahead of schedule time, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer lonic, from London via Capetown, was signalled at Hobart at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday. She is expected to arrive at Wellington °.n. n Wednesday morning. The Nairnshire having: loaded 'equal to 5000 carcases of mutton, sailed from the roadstead at 8 o'clock last night for «- a^ She P rocee ds from VVaitara to Wellington, thence sailing direct for London.
