SYDNEY, May 1. The Colonial Sugar Company profits for the past six months are <£162,632, making the total available for distribution £199.000. A dividend of 10 per cent, is declared, and .£56,500 carried forward.

The chairman stated at the half-yearly meeting that the production of sugar in Australia this year would fall short of th j consumption, and aome importation would be necessary. The proposal to erect another mill in Fiji had fallen through for the present.
