The Victorian Golf Association has adopted the tew rulos of golf. .The Tadies' Golf Union of Victoria has 18 clubs affiliated to it, the total mem bcrehip of jvvich is nearly 1000. The golf cbampioiship of Canterbury vas -won. on. Saturday by T. C. Eutherford (the pres2.it holder). H. C. Smith was runner up. N. F. Christoe, practising- at Kensington (Sydney) recently put up a record for the first nine holes by going out in 34. This (eaya a Sydney writer) has never been done before either in. practice or competition. He started with a good four, a three at the second, and excellent four at the third, and a four at the fourth. In the fifth green he holed a long putt, and notched a 3 (bogey 5). At the sixth 500 yards, he holed out off the green in three (bogey 6). He missed a short putt at the seventh, and took 4, and the eighth and ninth were done in 4 and 5 respectively. On the homeward journey he did not do so well, taking 44. If he keeps this up (he continues) Christoe will be a hard nut to crack in. the State Championship.
