more cnristian* villages Devastated. CONSTANTINOPLE, April 22. The wave of fanaticism at Adana is- directly traceable to the respect of the Sheriat (the Sacred Law) and the popularity of the Sultan. It is spreading in the eastern provinces. The Kurds, Circassians and Nomads are devastating Christian villages throughout the Swas Aleppo villayet. Though confident assurances have been given from Constantinople that the Sultan will not be deposed Enver Bey and other young leaders insist on the contrary.
