St. John' 6 Church was to-day the scene of a more than iiuiiaily mteiosliiig wedding, when Mr Allied Barnes biObons, second son oi Mr Hojjc Gibbons, brewer, of Plymouth Street, "W angauui, was united in the holy bonds ot matrimony to Miss Vida Phyllis (Fluff) Bartoii, setoiiu daughter of Mr C. Jacob, M.A., officiated, and^the bride was givcu / away by her lather*. Attired m a handsome Empire gown, of ivorj chiffon taffeta, with a panel of embroidered net down the front of the skirt, net yoke aud sleeves, airoctoire sash .finished ivith silver tassels, and wearing the customary veil and orange blo^oms, the bride looked exceedingly becoming. The bridesmaids, Miss BaiLon (sister of the bride) and Miss Fowler (cousin of the bride), wore pretty empire dresses of jale blue aolienne, relieved with blue velvet and silver tassels, and finished with direefcoire cashes. They carried crooks decorated with pink roses and asparagus, and wore pale blue Merry Widow hats of pale pink on the under side, and trimmings of pale blue chiffon and brown roses, with long pale blue strings. Mr T. Craig officiated as best man, and was assisted by Mr P. C. Murray as groomsman. After the cere■nony the party adjourned to the residence of the bride's parents, above Shakespeare's Cliff, where a reception of the gitests was held, and the wedding breakfast, accompanied by the usual toasts, was held. The bride's going away dress was a dark green tailor-made coat and skirt, with I'at tc match. Mr and Mrs Gibbons were the recipients of a large number of valuable and handsome presents.
