Professor Chas. Richardson, the wellknown, boxer, is at present in Wanganui. He informs the writer that he intends, if sufficient inducement offers, starting a boxing class here as he has been requested by several local sports to do. A few years ago an amateur boxing association was formed here, and it brought off a very successful tournament. Professor Richardson is at present instructor of the Palmereton North Boxing Association, where he has a very large class, and some very interesting tournaments are held. The Professor should have no difficulty in getting a big 1 class together here, aa he is so favourably known as a clever instructor of the manly ■ art. Anyone interested should call on. Mr A. H. Rogers, of the Albion Hotel, who will supply full particulars.

A sensation has been caused at the Lluff (fcelegraps the Otago Daily Times' correspondent) consequent upon the report that the head of a well-known Southland financial; institution has been missing from his usual haunts for a period of nine days. Report has it that serious financial shortages are the explanation of his disappearance The amounts involved are said to run into thousands of pounds. Diligent inquiries have failed to disclose his whereabouts.
