Hie remarkably good acceptances received for tlw first day's trots at the Wanganui Trotting Club's inaugural totalizator meeting to *c held on Thursday and Saturday of next, week, point to the fact that some trotting will be witnessed. The entries include horses from many parts of both islands, and some very fine performers are amongst the list, so that the sport will be of the very best and most exciting description. Visitors are expected here from ail quarters to attend the gathering, which should be an unqualified 'success, providing the weather is favourable. The secretary (Mr Selby Morton) "has ail the arrangements well in hand, «nd everything that can be done to ensure the successful carrying 1 out of the meeting, and the thorough enjoyment of the club 'a patrons will be done.
