Mr Fama, of Waverlev, who is at present in the Patea Hospital, suffering from a recurrence of appendicitis, is reported to ' be much better and hopes to leave the institution in a few dave. The wedding took place at St. John's | Church, Dannevirke, on Wednesday last, of Mr Denzil Ardell, of the Dannevirke 1 Post Ofiice staff, and only son of Mr John Ardell, Temuka, and Miss Mary Ethel Light, second daughter of the late Mr. W. Lierht, Dannevirke. Wellington papers announce the death of Mr J. V. Cordoza, who was formerly In business in Wanganui, but for many years past kept a fruiterer's shop on Lambton Quay. A Spaniard by birth, he came to New Zealand many years ago, and settled m Wanganui, where he and Mrs Cordoza soon became identified with the social life of the town, Mrs Cordoza being a singer of more than usual quality. Deceased's characteristics made him popular with a large circle of acquaintances. He was an enthusiastic follower of the pastime of bowlinar, and he was known on every green in Wellington. Mr A. \varner, Stafford, N.Z., writes: "A few months ago while working in a store at Utiku I had a severe attack of colic and diarrhoea.
