WELLINGTON COUNCIL OF CHURCHES.

(Per United Press Association.) '" WELLINGTON, March 22.

The Rev. Dr. Wilbur Chapman, who is to conduct an evangelist mission in Australia with Mr C. Alexander, is being invited by the Wellington Council of Churches to pay a similar visit to New Zealand.

The Council of the Churches to-night passed resolutions disapproving of Sunday concerts, and strongly objecting to the pony racing now going on, and urging the Government to legislate in the direction of restricting the number of race days.
