GERMANY AND AUSTRALIA.

Is it a Scare ? Press Associate on .--Telegra ph . — Copy ri crht . SYDNEY, November 25. The Hon. B. R. Wise, who recently vetuvned from England, in the course of an interview, expressed the conviction that Germany needs Australia and. that that was the secret of that nations anxiety to increase its navy. He stated that to his mind it was absolute that there was a real necessity for a much more elaborate scheme of defence than any yet put forward by the Commonwealth. Universal military training, though a step in the right direction, did not go far enough, No training was of any use unless this had a very substantial increase in the population.
