OUR VOLUNTEERS.
MILITARY CADET TOURNAMENT. The above event, which has created considerable interest amongst the School Cadets for some time past, will be held this evening in the Drill Hall. A very attractive programme has been arranged, which, outside the military events, will include items by Mr George Swan, Mr McKenzie Forbes, and Mr Buckley. This annual tournament was inaugurated some three years ago by the Non-commissioned Officers' Club, with the object of encouraging the cadet movement, and a large audience is expected to be present this evening to show their appreciation of the efforts of the club in this direction. Squad commanders and judges please note that the competitors in the route march will fall in for inspection at the Drill Hall at 6.45 p.m. The first squad will leave the Post Office at 7 o'clock, being followed by the remainder at intervals of five minutes, and finishing at the Drill Hall shortly before 8. Competitors in other events are required to be at the hall at 7.45. The Garrison Band has kindly consented to contribute several selections during the route march.
Mr J. T. Hogan will present the medals to the winners, after his Aramoho meeting.
