Fat Lambs. — The entry, which was mostly of prime quality, was fairly large, although there were some unfinished lines, but prices showed a decline on those previously "tfid by the butchers. Average qujdHyjaitle 14s to 15s, and a few heavier weights to 18s 4d. Light 11s 6d to 13s Gd. Small lambs were takan by butchers from 8s Gd to 11s. Store Sheep. — In the store sheep pens there was a fairly large entry of which ,ewesr and lambs represented much the larger proportion. These comprised bhcop of various ages, but mostly full mouth. The balance of tho entry was made up of two or three lines of shorn two and four-tooth w ethers and lines of mixed sexes. There was an average attendance, and the dry sheep sold satisfactorily, but for ewes and lambs bidding was slack, especially for aged sorts, and several lots wore passed. Baconcrs were rather easier. Heavy sorts made 60s to 755, aud lighter 48s to 58s, equal to 5Jd to 5d per lb. Heavy porkers made 42s to 48s, and lighter 32s to 38s, equal to Gd per lb. In stores there was a large entry, large making- to 40s and smaller to 24s to 28s. Weaners realised lGg to 2()s. Fat sheep. — There was a large yarding of lat sheop (mostly shorn), and included a q;ood proportion of prime quality. The buti-hi'it, were the only buyers, and being .shoit of supplies they bid freely in the I early part of the sale, though prices were j not. quite equal to those of the double muiket a, fortnight before. As the sale progressed, however, calves declined till they were down to the level of the last sale in October. The range of prices was: — Prime shorn wethers 17s to 19s 6d, lighter 14s 7d to 16s Gd. woolly wethers | 18s Gd to 23s Gd, prime shorn ewes 14s Gd to 17s 7d, others 10s to 14s, woolly merino wethers 12s to 15s 3d, shorn 9s Gd. I Store and Dairy Cattle. — There was a poor sale for store cattle, and most of the loih were passed. Dairy cows were mostly poor sorts, and sold at M.i 10s to £7 15a.
