The general opinion was that Banks would prevail, and this view strengthened when he took the lead at the start. However, at Duncan's Point Day began to draw up, and the two boats were close together as they passed the stone groyne. Opposite the Baths Day, whose crew was rowing .well, went to the front and won by a length. This evening, at 6 o'clock crews stroked respectively by Messrs Tilley and Bell, will row off the Gecond heat. The members of these crewe are renuested to be Teady to leave the shed at 5.45 p.m.
