ROWING.

WANGANUI EIGHTS.

The first heat for the above competition will be rowed this evening at 5.30, between crews stroked by E. Day and F. D. Banks. To-morrow evepiiig, at 6 o'clock, T. Bell' 6 crew will try conclusions with H. Tilley's.

ARAMOHO B.C.

By "Scull." This club is still going ahead, new members being- the order of the day, but the club has very few senior rowers, which seems a pity, as they have a fine best and best four lying- on the rack that has hardly had any work. I think the club could pick a very good senior crew from the members they have at present, and if they g-ot to work early they could make things lively in regattas to come.

I see the Licensed Victuallers are donating- a handsome set of trold pendants to be rowed for by four oar crews. The crews have already been nicked, and judging- by the evenness 01 the crews the Aramoho people should be provided with some good sport. I hope to comment on the crews during their training operations.

SAILING.

Members and intending members of the Wanganui Sailing Club are reminded of the annual meeting which takes place to-morrow evening, Thursday, at the Metropolitan Hotel, at v 8 o'clock. As important business' is to' be transacted, it is hoped there wjU be a full attendance of boat owners particularly, The present season promises to be most successful. Since last year' there have been several additions to the local fleet, including- the Aramoho built boat Rainbow, and a' new boat from Onehunga, name unknown. Competition for the Studholm Challenge Cup, at present held by the Dottrel, promises to be very keen indeed. It is >poßsible that the first race of the season will take place on Tuesday afternoon next, a holiday being observed for the election.
