There was fine weather for the races, and a large attendance, including the Governor-General and the Governors of Westralia and New South Wales. Results: — Hurdles.—^olus 1, Portlight 2, Jewel Case 3. Eleven starters. Won by seven lengths. Time, 4min 16sec. Trial Stakes. — Virtu 1, Legation 2, Mentmore 3. Nine starters. Won by half a length. Before reaching six furlongs Sea King and Soultline were two lengths ahead of lolaire and War Star. At the half-mile Soultline led by a length. The field clustered round the bend. Soultline and lolaire led past the distance. At the half distance BJue-book appeared the winner, but Melodrama, finishing with great determination, won by a half neck, lolaire ahead away. Tjme,,lmin 39} sec. Spring Stakes.— Mooltan 1, Sir Aylmer 2, Maranui 3. Seven starters. Cross Battery led off from Mooltan and PeFu, Maranui being last. The position waa unchanged till the mile post was reached, where • Maranui assumed a lead of three lengths. At the half mile Cross Battery joined Maranui and the pair, led to' the straight. At the distance Mooltan took charge. Sir Aylmer made a great run* but Mooltan won by three-quarters of a length. Time, 2min 45sec. Kensington Handicap. — Coppertop 1, Azarine 2, Black Mary 3. Seventeen starters. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 28sec.
