HEAVY TRAFFIC BILL.
(Per United Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, October 3.
Speaking to a Truth reporter, to-day on the subject of the Heavy Traffic Bill, the Mayor (Mr C. Allison) said the Bill on more careful perusal seemed t.o him to be one that would meet 'the objections of both local bodies and many of the carriers, and the principle objections,- as far as he could ascertain, was the. fact that the Bill ■provided for the stoppage of heavy traffic from April to September — th« winter period. That objection could, to some extent, be met by the. imposition of- two license fees annally — one to cover the whole of the year with $he exception of the months of May, June, J<uly, and August, and the other (a. heavier one) .to cover those four nionthisY - It had also been objected that a serious delay might occur before a magistrate's decision «ould be obtained, but' that could be"provided for- by allowinc an applicant' to lodge"" with the Court the maximum fee payable to one local authority and to go on carting until the magistrate's decision had- been, given.
The P.D. Corset is the highest mark of achievement in its class. Often imitated, it is never equalled. Only the makers of the J.D. Corset, with their wonderful organisitioi- and facilities ,of distribution, ca.i furnish you with such a Corset at such » nris.3. Quality is the test of cheapness. Why help to put a premium on inferiority, when you can wear a P.D.?
