Mise -Irene Ainsley's concert will be held in the Opera House on Wednesday evening. Winning — in the short space of lour years— A place among the great singers of the day, Alias Amsley has exceeded the most sanguine anticipations of her friends. Miss Ainsley had i.een but two years in England when she received Their Royal. Highness' command to sing at MarlboroWgh House shortly after her famous debat'concert in. the Becnetein Hall, which had -bden attended by Their Royal Highnesses. It was Madame Melba who first declared that New Zealand had given to the world a- most remarkable contralto in the penen of 'Miss Ainsley, .and since then the foremost critics have fully endorsed the opinion of the great pruua donna. Miss Aarialey has appeared at different intervals with each great artiste ' ;i« Busoui, Bach' auss, Ben Davies, Donaida, Ella Russell, and -Madame Melba — all within the two years since her debut concert. A strong Company have been got together for the tour, including Mr Hamilton Hodges, Mew Zealand's . favourite- baritone.
