DALGETY AND CO.'S STOCK REPORT.
At Wanganui on 23rd inst., we had a small yarding" of sheep and good entry of cattle. The sheep consisted mostly of hoggets and sold well according to quality. Cattle, especially store bullocks from Mang - amahu, elicited g - ood competition. We made a good clearance. At Waverley on 25th inst., we had a good entry of cattle and small pens of sheep and several lots of pigs. There was a large attendance and we had a very brisk sale, a total clearance being made under the hammer, all classes of cattle were in demand and sold freely at an advance on late rates. Pigs sold well. Quotations : — Wanganui. — Medium wether hoggets 11s 9d, small mixed hoggets 10s 4d, forward 4-year bullocks £6 11s, do. fair condition £5 18s 6d to £6 ss, do. inferior £4 19s, fat cows to £6 2s 6d 3 forward cows £3 to £4 16s, store cows 30s to 455. Waverley. — Small mixed hoggets 9s 3d, cull hog-gets 6s, old empty ewes 4s, store bullocks £5, 18-month steers 47s Gd, 54s to 555, weaner steers 35s to 38s, springing heifers (Jersey cross) £6 2s, others £4, £4 ss, to £4 10s, cows in calf £4 to £4 10s, forward empty cows £3 13s 6d, store cows £2 10s 6d, £2 15s to £2 16s, mixed weaners 28s, weaner heifers 225, sows in pig £3 7s 6d, £3 15s to £4, young sows 345, light porkers 31s, slips 16s 6d.
