WOOL, SKIN, HID£ AND TALLOW SABE. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd.,. report as follows: — The usual fortnightly sale was held to-day when we offered a large catalogue of skins, hides, and calf skins, and a few bales -of wool, also a quantity of tallow, horns, hair, etc. There was keen bidding from a large number of buyers present at prices on a par with.last sales rates ; for skins and hides the prices were slightly lower except for calf skins which sold at exceptionally good prices. We quote : — Wool. — Crutchings medium 3jd to 33d, do., heavy and seedy lid to 2*d, crossbred fleece, stragglers 4Jd to sd. ] Skins. — Half and fine cross bred s£d to 6id, medium and coarse cross bred 4id to sid, pelts 2*d to 3id, damaged I skins Id to 4id. Hides. — Ox medium to sd. do. light 4|d to 4jd, cow 3|d to 4jd, damaged 2d to 3d, calf sound 6d to 7Jd, do. damaged 2d to 4|d. Tallow. — Mixed, beef, and mutton 23s 1 to 24s 9d per cwt ; in tins and odd packages 20s to 22s 9d. Horsehair, bones, cowtails, etc., at satisfactory prices. Wellington, September 25th, 1908.
