WELLINGTON, September 12. The representatives of Taranaki and Wellington .met on the Athletic Park this afternoon, the game "resulting in a win for the home team by 13 to 8. T;he game was very uninteresting, although fast and and was almost one long- scramble. A .high wind was blowing, and while playing against it neither side The first spell euded in favour of Taranaki by Bpoints to nil. C. Sheehan and Tarau scored tries, the "sfcond "being converted by Stohr. In the second spell, Ready and McLeod scored tries for Wellington, Evenson potted a^goal, and Ryan kicked a penalty goal. Wellington were without the services of Milchinson, and Taranaki of Hunter, Mynott, Hardgreaves, and Frewin.
