RANGITIKEI DEFEATS WANGANUI.
Rangitikei , ..'. JO Wanganui 5 Wanganui sent a very weak rep. team to Marton on Saturday, and suffered defeat by Rangitikei by 10 points to 5. Tl«* weather was fine.^and the ground in good order. The game, which was witnessed by a goodly .number, proved fairly interesting, at times being fast and e\eiily contested all through. The Rangitikei forwards were too strong for thenopponents, and secured possession in the scrum well, but the backs failed to take advantage of their opportunities. In the first spell there was no ecore, but in the second half Reed got over the line for Rangitikei, and Signal converted. Later on Beckett got a try, Jago failing with the kick. Just on time Abbott by a pretty bit of play secured a try, and landed a splendid goal, making the scores — Rangitikei 10, Wanganui 5, as the whistle sounded.
