LONDON, Scptcmbev 12. A voluntary guard of honour accompanied the Catholic Procession of the Sacrament, numbering 12,000. Many small windows were let at 10 guineas.
Eight hundred police were on duty. After two days' telegraphic negotiations between Mr Asquith and Archbishop Bourne, Mr Asquith intimated the public request for the abandonment of the jjroccesion for the better interests of the people and in order to create good feeling. The ceremonial, the legality of which is questioned, shouhLnot take place. Archbishop Bourne decided that all ecclesiastical ceremonies are to be eliminated from the procession, the cardinals and bishops to proceed to the Cathedral along the proposed route in full Court dress, but the ceremonial procession will bo held within the Cathedral and the Legate's benediction will be bestowed from the balcony of the Cathedral.
