Protest against increase

NAPIER, July 30. At a meeting of the Hawke's Bay Builders' and Contractors Union to-day it was decided to lodge a strong protest against the suggestion that the duty on O°regon pine should be increased. It was stated that in less than two years in this district the rise in the price of timber had been equal to 3s 3d per 100 feet.
