Conspirators Forestalled
CONSTANTINOPLE, July 30.
Some officers belonging to the Young Turkish Party agreed among themselves to shoot the Sultan at the ceremony of Selamlik, and proclaim his brother ReBhad, as his successor. When the Sultan learned this, he forestalled the conspirators by granting the Constitution.
