FOOTBALL.

LOCAL MATCHES.

TO-MORROW'S GAMES ON THE REC.

SENIOE CUP. *t Kaierau v Old Boys, Eec. No. 1, at 1.30 p.m. ; Mr Geo. Brown. Pirates v Wanganui, Rec. No. 1, at 3 p.m. • Mr H. Tilley. ~ * JUNIOR CUP. Wanganui v Pirates, Rec. No. 2, at 3 p.m. Mr G. Simpson. Turakina v Waitotara, Rec. No. 2, at 1.30 p.m. Mr T. Bell. Some interesting football is likely to be witnessed on the Rec. to-morrow, when there will be two Senior Cup matches, viz., Kaierau v Old Boys and Pirates v Wanganui. , On recent form the Kaieraus do not look to have much to fear from, the Old Boys, who have had to play short-handed in their later matches, but if they can place a full team in the field to-morrow a very even struggle may be looked for. The game which follows between the Pirates and Wanganui is likely to be one of the best contests of the season. The Pirates only require to win another match to make the Cup a certainty for them, but they will need to play a lot better than they did against the Kaieraus a fortnight ago otherwise they will igain have their colours lowered. The red and blacks are hopeful of success, as they have got a strong team, and are bound to put up a big fight. The Pirates have been training, and though confident, do not mean to throw any chances away, so that there is some reason to anticipate that a rattling good game will be witnessed. >

Tou may rest assured that when a manufacturer submits a range of samples to you he hopes to get a substantial order, and needless to say these samples are specially selected. They represent his best goods, and in many cases special lines at special trices. Each sample is carefully examined by experts and no flaw in weaving or dyeing is allowed to pass, thereby ensuring perfect goods. We have just received direct, from an English manufacturer a complete range of hosiery samples. They are mostly in plain and ribbed cashmere in ladies' sizes and the prices range from 9d to 2e 6d per pair. They have all been subjected to our special sale reductions though they are new goods, and every pair bears an English manufacturer's guarantee* — McGruer and Co.
