CHRISTCHURCH, April 10. The number of licenses to date issued by the Canterbury Acclimatisation Association is as follows: — Adults, £1 each, 682; boys, 5s each, 558; half season, 12s 6d each, 91. The total amount received was .£BO3 7s 6d.

A promineut Christchurch builder, interviewed, stated emphatically that there was no understanding whatever between the Christchurcli builders and the architects as to the exclusion of outsiders, and there was not the slightest chance of any being arranged. Such a system as the Dunedin one was against all proper principles of a free country.

The Canterbury Acclimatisation Association has passed the following resolution : "That no device be used from which to shoot native game on Lake Ltlesmere, other than the legalised cylinder, or scrub or rush hut, muduole, or mainiai, and that such device should not be set or used in water of a greater depth than 24 inches, providing there was nothing in the regulations to prevent shooting out of an undressed boat hidden in reeds growing along the shor^ of the lake, or the use of a boat for retrieving; that no live birds be used ?.s decoys; that no persons put a greater number of decoys on an area of 100 yards square than 25, or kill more than 200 head of native game in one year." It was explained in the discussion that the proposals had been framed .to stop indiscriminate slaughter of game that had been going on lor the past few years.
