LONDON, April 9. Lord Landsdowne, speaking at the Conservative Club, • said the Government's Bills were tainted with a spirit of vindictiveness and were opposed to the general well-being. Their financial policy was likely to bring them to serious grief. He hoped they would learn, from the recent- bye-election, of the country's disillusionment. A new Government had a great chance. The Unionists were willing to deal with education and temperance on moderate lines. They were ready to examine carefully, not obstructively, any proposals conceived in a just and moderate spirit.
