MANG AWHERO ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Morgan-hero Road Board was held on Saturday, 4th of April, at 10.30 a.m. Present — Messrs D. Mason (chairman), Mcc, Boss and Speod, CORRESPONDENCE. Letters from Commissioner of Crown Lands re over , accrued, thirds and fourths. Treasury re Shakespeare Cliff Road loan of ,£2OO. H. V. Hammond, agreeing to road deviation and requesting permission to erect private telephone line along the road. — Resolved; that Mr Hammond's offer re deviation be accepted .with thanks, and that he be granted permission to erect telephone line. It was resolved to instruct Messrs Dix and Murchant to lay off and supply ylar-s and estimate for the ccst of proposed deviation of v road from Wahnatu stream to Kaupan stream. A. G. Anderson- re payment for land taken for the road. — Resolved, that the clerk attend to the matter. E. N. Liffiton accepting the position of Board's representative at Assessment Court From the clerk of -the ' Wanpanui County Council offering the ' Board the control of the Upokongaro Ferry •• Resolved to accept same. It w?s nlso resolved to call for tenders lor lease of the Upokongaro, Ferry, and that a special n eeting of the Board be~held on Wednesday, 15th April, at 11 a.m., to open and consider same. It was resolved that the ferry be re-opened for traffic r.u Monday, 6th of xVpril, and that the Foroman arrange with the natives to carry it on in the meantime. ' Transfers of sections by N. Perry to F. O'Neill, and J. 1 W. Anderson toH. M. Speed were approved. Accounts amounting to .£llO 3a 4d, were passed for payment. Bank pass book showing credit balance of ,£635 10s was laid on the table. Resolved, that notices be sent to defaulting ratepayers notifying that all rates unpaid after April 15th, 1908, would be sued for.
